My battery gave up on me in the parking garage under my building in DIFC and now I'm trying to sort a replacement without wasting another afternoon. Last time I bought a battery in a hurry the terminals were on the wrong side and I had to go back and argue with the shop, so I'm being more careful this time. I've got a 2016 Corolla and the D47 keeps coming up as the right one, but I'd rather check properly instead of trusting the guy behind the counter. I found a Trusted Varta D47 battery guide for DIFC car owners that actually listed dimensions and terminal positions, which was more useful than the vague reassurances I'd been getting. Still, I'd like to hear from anyone who's fitted one in a similar car. Did the hold down bracket line up without any messing about, and is there anything about the UAE spec that differs from what's listed online? I'm hoping to avoid a second trip back to the shop because that's exactly how I wasted a Saturday last time.

The terminal layout is the thing that catches most people out, so checking it before you buy is smart. I don't have hands-on experience with a D47 in a Corolla, but on paper the group size and post orientation are what matter most for fitment, and the hold-down bracket usually follows the group number rather than the brand. Worth confirming the CCA rating matches what your car actually calls for, since listings can vary by market. If the shop will let you compare the old unit side by side before paying, that's the simplest way to avoid another wasted trip.
