Would a 20 m² small-scale commercial ice maker fit a cold-chain packing station?
-
Our Seattle freight brokerage handles some temperature-controlled shipments, and one problem keeps surfacing at a partner's packing station: they run out of ice at the worst time. I've been reading about the EUHOMY IM-02 commercial ice maker and a few similar compact units online, because the space is perhaps 20 m² and the budget is limited. What concerns me is the duty cycle. The specs I found don't clearly say whether the unit runs continuously, and I can't tell if it needs a dedicated circuit. I'm also unsure whether the ice output stays consistent when the room door opens for pickups. I have no hands-on experience with this model, so I'd rather ask here than guess. For those who run small packing or staging areas, what output level do you actually need for cold-chain work, and does a unit like this hold up under daily loading? Any input on the electrical or drain side would help.
