Audi Q7 AC smells fine but air is weak on the left side, who looks at this?
-
Something small is bugging me and I would like to hear if other Audi owners have seen it. I have a 2018 Audi Q7 that I use for work and for driving my family around on weekends. For about two weeks now, the air from the left vents feels weaker than the right side, and it is also not as cold. At first I thought I was imagining it, so I held a small piece of paper near each vent, and the right one pushed it much more. My wife says the car is just big and the sun is strong. My brother thinks a vent or a flap is blocked. My friend has an A6 and he told me it could be a small motor behind the dashboard, a dirty cabin filter or a weak blower. I did not know who to believe, so one night I read about it online. I opened a page about Audi cars on a Sharjah website to learn how the air flaps, the filter and the cooling parts work together, and it helped me understand what a mechanic might say. Then a coworker told me to look for a Top Audi AC specialist in Sharjah and ask them to check the flaps and the filter before they add any gas. I liked that advice because I do not want to pay for gas I may not need. So I have some questions. Is weaker air on only one side usually a flap motor or a filter? Can I check the cabin filter myself on a Q7, or is it hard to reach? Should the garage test the air flaps with a scan tool before taking anything apart? And about how long does a proper check take, and what is a fair price? If you had the same thing on your Q7 or another Audi, please tell me what it was and about how much you paid. Thanks a lot.
